Tracktacitics will be doing a trackday at Pittsburgh international race complex.
For anybody that has never been its a great fast paced track.
All street riders really wanting to learn their bikes and body positioning its a great opportunity. you can do one day or they do a package deal for both days. Whats cool is they also have classroom instruction between sessions to talk about technical aspects of track riding that of course also relate to street riding as well. What I like about this organization is that they give you a little bit more free reign on the track and will coach you individually if you would like or let you go all out because they use coaches rather than control riders which can restrict you a bit especially in the beginner groups.

Hope to see some faces there.

"Our clip ons feature a 1in. rise and an optional zero or seven degree sweep. The 1in rise allows you to run the clip ons below the triple clamp and have the same rise as if they were ran on top. These clip ons allow you to run an upper with little to no trimming needed. Another benefit of these is you do not have to lower the front of your bike to achieve the rise. Or you can run them on top to achieve a higher rise closer to the feel of dirtbike bars."

I think that just about covers everything. Since I don't have any future plans for the track (getting married, too expensive :screwy). I'm hoping to get the tank painted (scratched from previous owner:cuss) and powdercoat the wheels. Now the reason for any first post, pictures of the bike. :fact

Well next thing I know is I am wayyy farther over than I had ever been (not the kind of person to be racing around town), so I kept cool with some roll on mixed with all the BP practice I have been working on every time I ride. I know it's a silly accomplishment for you TD riders but here are the results:

I actually got some use from the edge of that bish lol.

My wife bought this for me last year and I really didn't get around to using it until this year. Let me tell you something, this thing works great!:bow Its so much better and easier to dry your bike without the use of towels/shammys ect. It leaves a streak less finish and I love how it can get all the hidden spots where water gets trapped (dash area, between the fairing plastics, under the seats are just a few examples) I couldn't stand it when I went for a ride after washing my bike and having all the missed water streak down the bike and leaving water marks.:cuss It also serves as a great leaf blower, I swear. This thing is powerful. Because its so powerful, I don't recommend blowing directly into any critical areas of the bike just to be on the safe side of loosening up anything. The reviews speak for themselves. Its a little pricey, but def worth it IMO. I always thank the wife for buying it for me after each wash and she laughs, lol.

When drying, I work from the top of the bike down and it takes me no longer then 5-10 mins. The results are a crisp, clean, sexy 6.:YEA

But if so why the continued push towards things like PCIII or the newest Bazzaa units? All ideas are welcomed as this subject matter is new to me. Im not trying to make a 1000 out of my 600, again just looking to make a happy and maximum efficient motor with the least cost and best results. Thanks!

I want to take my bike to a dyno shop and get a custom tune but in about a month and a half I'm moving from Florida (currently) to Texas with an elevation difference of ~1000 ft.

Will that elevation difference be significant for a custom map? and any recommendations for the FAIC map. Obviously if altitude makes a huge difference and I'd have to get it mapped twice, i'd rather go with FAIC.

Thanks guys!

Okay, well I tried researching a little about this... But I think my situation is pretty unique so I thought I'd post a thread. I posted short versions of every paragraph after the paragraph.

How is all started...

A few days ago I wanted to go for a quick ride. Jumped on the bike and started on the freeway. About five mile in I noticed my Temp gauge flashing at 253, with the red water light. So I pulled to a safe position on the freeway. Turned the engine off, but left the fans on. Finally after about six minutes or so. The temp started dropping. I got it to 192, and by that time I already had the girlfriend pull up with the car. I told her I wanted to make the next exit, as it wouldn't be safe on the freeway. So I started it up. Headed the next exit. Within a half mile the bike was already 253 flashing. Pulled into a parking lot. When home grabbed the truck, and loaded her up.

Part 1 (Short version): Bike over heated twice rode about two miles total on it.

Then the next day I was supposed to have the bike tuned. So I tore her apart to find a coolant hose came off! Like didn't crack or split, but came off. Put it back on, tightened clamp. Filled with water wetter. Let run until fans, then topped it off. Rode the bike and noticed the temp was rather high on the freeway, 206. So rode to a meet spot and right when I arrived bike was at 230~235... Left fans on again until cool. When to the Dyno, had them fix my fuel map being that I just did an 05 header mod. Fixed map, but my numbers were low. 98hp... When stock I ran 106hp. The other stock R6's ran 111 that day. Both of them. Rode bike home.

Part 2(Short version): Found issue, added more coolant, "burped" system or so I thought. Ran 98hp at Dyno. Bike running 208-214 on freeway. 235 at lights.

So I took her apart again and checked coolant. Noticed like it might be a little low. But my reservoir was full. Burped system again, even though I read it isn't needed. Ran with the cap off. Noticed it was running fairly cool. Put her back together a went for a ride. Arrived at a friends house, reached 223. Not bad. When riding and it started again. Now at 239 at stop light. Then spike to 221 or 217 as soon as I took off. Went to a friends house and hit 244. Turned off waited to cool. Then was going to ride home. Battery was dead. Had a push start. Headed home. The whole way was 206~217 on freeway. I got off at my exit any pulled to a light and bike died. I then had to push start. And get it home. When I got home it threw error 46. At 235 degrees. I put her in the garage. And now this is where I am.

Part 3(Short version): Burped system, rode bike, overheated at 244. Battery dead, rode home. Error 46 upon arrival.

So things I'm thinking it could be, Radiator cap, Water Pump, Thermostat, Coolant temp sensor, or motor. Possibly head gasket, but I didn't feel the oil on dip stick was milky. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Supp everybody. Just got back from an awesome weekend. I was able to take 6th out of 14.

After never riding on this track and missing two practice sessions due to my bike not starting, I had to remove the tank and fix my quick shifter where it connects to the ignition coils. PITA when you are trying to do it before tech. With only 3 practice sessions remaining I started the day with 1:41, no where near to be competitive. Very bumpy track and was developing severe head shake during acceleration on certain parts of the track. Thanks to Tige from Catalyst Reaction/Cyclemall he recommended I increase my preload and other settings. Next session felt way better and brought my time down 5 seconds to 1:36. The bike felt really good and I knew I'd be able to hang somewhere mid pack. I've only done one practice launch back in Feb, so I thought I did pretty well for my second time. Out of all the times that I've shifted with my quick shifter, it decided that one time to hop into neutral right at the start, luckily it didn't cost me too much. During the race set my new personal best to 1:31 and had insane head shake once again, though I was able to make it work and I placed 6th overall out of 14. Not bad for only having 3 practice sessions and never riding the track. Fastest lap was 1:24 and top four guys were running no more than 1:25.

Feel free to critique! I know some of my lines weren't the best, especially going to the downhill and I realized that after the fact. lol.

This bish is in 1080p HD as well. Shot with a Gopro Hero 3 black edition. Protune on for the second vid for those who are interested.
