New 2004 Yamaha R6 (13k) Owner. This is a great forum and thank you all for the information, i have done lots of research on this site and fix everything so far.
The only thing i couldn't figure out was would a " 02 Yamaha YZF R6 Exhaust Header Pipes S29" Fit on my 2004? One of the pipes is cracked currently makes a really loud noise, wanted to replace it. Couldn't figure it out
I've attached the picture. I showed a guy who does welding, he said because of where of the location is cracked is better to get another one. idk if his lazy or just BS'n...
He is lazy that's all it would help if you remove them yourself and take them to a muffler shop from the picture it looks like the original weld is where it has cracked which is an easy fix as long as the flange isn't cracked then you would have issue with it sitting flush if its not done correctly. Approximate price to get that welded is about $20 and a beer
It can be easily be welded. The best process would be to tig weld with stainless rods! you may have to grind down the weld a bit for the flange to still move
Thank you all for the help. I took the pipes off and dropped it off at the weld shop this 30min ago. Hoping this guy could work his magic. I'll keep you guys posted.
Don't over torque the header nuts when you re-install it. From how bad that plate is bent, it appears someone did that to yours, probably what caused it to crack
Hey everyone, sorry it took a while for the response. Two days ago, i changed out the exhaust to another OEM one. Sounds great, the welding couldn't be done, the whole headers were beyond rusted, and was falling apart
Hi, I have a question related to the topic.
I have an 2007 R6 and I'm wondering if any OEM header from older model (without cat and silencer box) would fit to it. I'd like to set up that kind of header with the OEM slip-on from my R6. Is it possible?
Or can I buy this kind of aftermarket race header for my model?
Ok this caught my eye and i looked into it and thats sweet my question is and i know its probably a dumb one because the 05 headers fit the 07 will this setup work on my 08? i am gettin a power camander 5 so not worried bout the tuning issue it will be solved, but will the 05 headers work for my 08, i do have the yoshi r-55 slip on and i want the cat box gone and i dont want to spend another 500 on the full yoshi system so this could save me alot of money, so can anyone tell me if this setup will work on my 08?
