So yesterday i had a friend out riding on his 2007 gsxr. Saw blue lights and didnt think twice, around here im told county cops dont chase bikes but not state patrol. He said traffic got to thick and the cop was doing 130 in the median whipped out in front of both lanes and pulled out his glock 21. needless to say he gave up and hit the floor after 6 hours off lock up he ended up with a 75 over ticket and reckless driving. Some how he didnt get an evading charge but **** 75 over is pretty steep. So to all you out there think twice about running from ol johhny law.
i was doing 30-35 over the limit riding some twisties on my way home from class one day, cop drove past me, i saw his lights come on.
i thought - hey can totally outrun him. but thought against it. pulled over, took off my helmet and waited for him. he knew i was speeding but that i stopped he told me ill just get a warning.
My brother was cruising South on 575, here in GA, doing about 85-95 in the fast lane on his old R6 and didn't notice a GSP rode up next to him. GSP proceeded to run him off the road into the grass median doing 80! My brother immediately stopped the bike, turned it off, and took his helmet off. GSP sprinted to the bike and snatched the keys out of the ignition. This was the day my brother learned that GSP CAN USE PIT-MANEUVERS AT ANY TIME IF FEASIBLE! And he wasn't even running.
Don't run from the police, especially from GSP!! You'll regret it one way or another as Alex mentioned in that previously posted thread on TampaSR. How did he get placed on probation, pay fines, etc but didn't commit the crime and didn't get charged? Is it because he didnt report the bike stolen or couldn't prove it wasn't him?
If you commit the crime - be prepared to serve your time and pay the fine!
Guy I went to high school with ran several times and always got away. They showed up to his house one night after he already sold the bike (a 929) and got a gsx-r. They kicked the door in and he did almost two years, and lost his license for years. Not a cool story brah.
Me, I would never run. Did as a kid but now I got kids and I dont want to kill anyone/myself to avoid a ticket. If I lose my license I lose my job too. Not worth it.
Idiot. THe GSP's down here don't mess around. I don't run from ANY cop and never have. But if I did, there's no way in hell it would be GSP. Chargers with Hemi's and guys not afraid to drive them aren't anything to mess with
I got pulled by a Virginia State Trooper back in 2005. Driving a twin turbo LS1 camaro with nitrous... or so he said. Apparently they got it from a drug sting.
lol ''pulled out the 21'', if a cop does this here in Canada without a good reason, he almost lose his job right away. Fkcued up mentality. (BTW, biker is also an idiot lol)
Yea i hear ya i mean he is still my buddy and it was stupid to do but you dont gotta be a dick and i would have to say the State Patrol was being a lot more risky that charger would do a lot more damage than that little gsxr to others. Im not saying a agree with my buddys decision to run at all just that you dont gotta be a prick about it
So first things first. That police officer likely had a good bit of training in high speed pursuits, enough so that he could pull that particular one off. Cop was trained to do that, your buddy wasn't. You have to understand that cars are built to transfer their momentum in a crash much better than a bike. A bike has no crumple zones, so it transfers far more of its momentum to the other vehicle. Also, the rider is not fastened to the bike, so now you've created a person sized missile aimed down the road. Sure, a car is a lot bigger and more times than not will cause more damage or be more lethal, but putting a blanket statement like you did over it is just wrong.
I dont think your understanding what im trying to say. I posted this as a warning to those who think of attempting this. I have seen a few friends lose their lives to stupidity behind the wheel. And from the story i was told this cop was taking a huge risk consistently riding in the grass median and clearly told my friend he had hit 130mph. Now im not saying the cop was in anyway wrong that his job and an awesome one at that. I was just telling him not to be a cock and say **** my friends safety. It was dumb he got caught and will pay just dont need to hear some ass hole like thats comments. Just trying to let my fellow riders know they will generally be caught if they evade
He said **** your friends safety in reference to the importance of other people's safety. That's why speed limits exist, to protect other people. If you wanna speed on a track and get yourself killed, that's fine, because its likely you won't be hurting anyone else. But on a public road it isn't just your life at stake. Anyone who drives recklessly and puts other people's lives in jeopardy is the real asshole here. Pretty sure that's what he meant by that statement.
Yeah i get what you are saying but i didnt post this to hear that. Just to inform not really hear opinions on my friends saftey. He had the rare right combo of skill and luck and no one got hurt, oh yea except him getting put to the ground like a little bitch by a GSP lol.
