A little bit of background:
Started on the street by buying a 2000 Buell Blast. That was a great starter bike.

Always dreamed of having an R6 though, and this spring, after 2 years on the blast, that dream was realized.

I found a great condition 2002 R6 with quite a few mods on it already.

Starting mods:
-Dark Zero Gravity Windscreen
-GPR V4 Steering Stabilizer
-Yoshimura Tri-Oval TRS exhaust
-Fender Eliminator
-LED Flush Mount Turns
-LED Rear signal/brake
-Carbon Fiber-looking accent pieces
-Frame sliders

The first mod I did to it was get a new front tire. The current one was very bald. Got a Power Pure
:toocool:

Then I replaced the speedo lights which were burnt out:

Next I got a LED Flasher relay, as the turn signals were not flashing right/consistently.

Got rid of old one:

Track Time

I always knew I'd want to track my bike someday, and my well-paying internship this summer allows me to do that. So I started buying stuff for the track.

I bought:
-Alpinestars GP-Pro Suit (size 48)(Thanks Chiefsmokedawg for recommending it!)
-Teknic Xcelerator Gloves (Kangaroo palm rocks!)
-Sidi Vertigo boots (size 13)

Not my room FYI lol

Posts to come later as I upload more photos of my purchases.

Finished wetsanding, bought a buffer attachment for my drill, then I polished the tank with Meguiars Polishing compound, followed by hand applied Mothers Carnuba Cleaner Wax and it really brought it back to a shine! It was so dull after the wetsanding I was a little worried, but now it shines!

Later tonight I'm going to install the fuel filter, sensor, and fill it up with gas.

The 06-09+ exhaust actually fit right up to the header just fine with the adapter pipe it came with just fine. However, since it stuck out past the footpeg a little bit, i decided to remove the adapter pipe to shorten it, which solved the problem.

But then the exhaust inlet was bigger than the header outlet, so I found a 6061 aluminum pipe with a perfect inner and outer diameter to fit over the header and put the exhaust over that.

Also cut a tiny strip of metal to be used as a support bracket that just mounted behind the footpeg bolt.

But it sounds sick! Such a deep growl and then the awesome racebike scream at high RPMS. The downshifts sound sweet too.

Here is a vid of two accelerations:

Got the valves adjusted and plugs done for 240, and turns out there was never a jet kit installed in my bike!

So I hate messing with carbs, so I'm having the same guy install an Ivan's Jet. He's even going to dyno tune it and I'm gonna get some HP/Torque printouts!

The Ivan's seem to be the best reviewed.

So look for those to be posted in 1-2 weeks.

ha just realized your from WI too I was probably looking at it.. you get it from craigslist?
Haha yes I am. The guy posted it on the milwaukee craiglist. I saw it and made him an offer in 5 minutes of seeing it lol.

I'm not picking it up til the 26th, but I will definitely post pics.

First mods to it are going to be an intergrated tail light and fender eliminator. That's about all it needs, maybe a 06+ exhaust swap too.

Yea I'm gonna keep the first gen as my track bike. I've already sold the stock fairings and headlights anyways haha.

My 2005 will be my backup in the chance I wreck the 2002 and it takes awhile to repair.

I'm so tempted to get a Pitbull Trailer Restraint right now. I'm sick of messing with straps lol.

Oh yea, and installed my Renthal Kevlar Grips today.
