I have a harbor freight one and I'm not convinced it's very accurate. I would go with the best one you can afford for sure, especially if you are doing engine internal work.
Just spend the extra money and get the snap-on or craftsman one. this is a tool you'll use almost everytime you work on something mechanical and it's worth having one that is gonna hold up, be accurate, and have a lifetime warranty. I know snap-on and craftsman both have a lifetime warranty.
I got this one for $150 used off my Snap-on guy. If you got access to a snap-on truck just hit them up about the used ben they have in the truck, you'll find some great stuff in awesome condition for half the price
I'm surprised a mechanic is looking for tool advice on a forum. Haha. Have you tried CDI? CDI is made by Snap-On. All CDI TQ wrenches are individually serialized and come with it's own spec sheet. They're about half the cost of Snap-On too.
