I did a search and didn't find anyone similar to this. I have a oil leak and first I thought it was coming from the cover or a bolt that holds the stator cover on. I went and cleaned the bike off really well and when I got home I took a close look and one of the small leaks I have is coming from the rubber grommet that houses the wires for the stator that goes into the top of the cover. Oil is coming out of the area the wires go into the grommet. Has anyone experienced this before. If need be I can snap some pictures to show what I mean just haven't had time to yet.
The oil level is showing right at the full mark, I thought it was the gasket so replaced it but after that it was still leaking and after cleaning it all off well you can see it slowing coming from that spot.
I fixed it by putting “high temp epoxy” to seal the wires coming out of the grommet.. be careful and do a good job because after your done it’s tensile strength will be close to steel but hey, I got tired of ridding on a slick back tire so it was well worth it
You might want to check your crank case vent line that goes from the top of the tranny to the air box. It may be linked or plugged causing the oil to come out there.
