Hey everyone!

I was lucky enough to pick up my first bike back up again so I decided to convert it into a dedicated track bike. Right now it just has an Akrapovic slip-on. I will update with pictures and purchases and maybe even track progress. Here we go!

What is done already
1. Suspension tune by Whoopie's Cycles - $30
2. GPR V4 Damper (used) - $245
3. Dunlop D211 GP N-TEC UK Made (take offs) - $150
4. Aftermarket shorty levers - $40

What needs to be done
1. Optimal Racing track plastics
2. Zero Gravity double bubble windscreen
3. Fren Tubo type 3 brake lines
4. Graves slip-on
5. MJS headers
6. Bazzaz + AFM
7. Penske rear shock

Here's a picture before I start molesting her.

Here is a picture of the paint scheme I ideally would like to do (thanks Ram for the picture!). I'm thinking of powdercoating the wheels gold because I think white on gold looks like tits. If you guys are wondering, that monkey is from an Asian clothing brand called Baby Milo, hence my screen name.

If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to throw them at me! I'm still a noob.

Update 4/10/12

Haven't gotten to try it out yet though. I revved it a bit and saw how fast the RPM's went up and was like "..............this is going to be dangerous.

Haven't really updated in a while. Had a track day last Sunday but my battery died the night before so I had to skip out on it. Dumb Ballistic 4 cell. Friend showed me an OEM battery site for $70 shipped so I said eh and pulled the trigger.

Tomorrow is my first Endurance race. I'll be using one of my teammate's Honda CBR 250R. Should be...... interesting

This weekend was such an AWESOME experience. Raced my first endurance race and completed it! Also corner worked today but highly regretted not sprinting. Regardless, I still learned a lot about the whole process of how CMRA works and such. Here's quick shot from the mini-endurance race I did with my buddy's Honda CBR 250R.

Yeah, I'm definitely excited to sprint with you guys, Chris.

how did the endurance race work? how many riders on the bike you shared and how many laps? if you cant tell, i know nothing about how these events work haha
I was pretty intimidated going into the races since I didn't know anything either. Not 100% sure if your club runs the same as us but if so, you have a team of 2-5 people. Basically run like a normal race -- first rider grids up and takes off with everyone else and whenever he feels like it, pit in and switch riders. There's other minor details like when you're filling up gas, only two riders on the pit lane, rider has to be off the bike, bike on stand, one other guy with a fire extinguisher ready. Mini endurance is 2 hours so whoever puts out the most laps is ahead. Bike big endurance is similar but 4 hours.

Nice Sherman! They are a lot of fun to ride. I see the previous owner sunk the forks into the triples.... It's a common belief that you need to raise that bike to the moon to make it work. That's not really the case. I say this cause my friend runs mid pack AMA times on his 600 and 750 all day and no fork caps. Just an occasional belly pan dragging here and there, but it's very rare now that the bike is setup better.
