The only issue I had with mine was one of the fork seals started to leak. I had bought used, however, and it was probably from the previous owner.

I do hear that plastic right under the tank (where your knee goes) tends to break off a tad easy. Hasn't happened to me though.

(Also, subbed)

The plastic under my tank cracked after my highside :fact

Other than that... I had 0 issues after 45k miles.

A few problems I've had with my 09

1. Checks hurting from excessive smiling while riding
2. Constant talk about how you wish you were riding
3. Complaining about the cost of all the cool upgrades you want to buy yet you still buy them
4. The cost of track days
5. The cost of new tires after several trackdays
6. The cost of race fees
7. After 2 high sides the front stay broke, I mean what a piece of junk it should have lasted at least 4-5 more
8. As stated before, Winter, I hate you mother nature, give me global warming so I can ride all year long
9. Listening to people tell me I’m dumb, crazy, stupid for riding.
10. Figuring out what I was going to name my bike. That took some time

You got two crashes out of the fairing stay? Mine was one and done.:lmao

many of the owners simply don't know how to ride them properly. that's probably the number 1 problem for most years, tho.

i haven't heard anything specific that plagues these bikes. but i'm sure there's something...

ive had an 08 for a while now, 2 pretty bad track wrecks where the bike looked toast, not 1 actual problem (apart from broken parts from wrecking)

as long as you maintain these things properly and didnt get one with some manufacturer defect, i gotta say they are reliable and well made.

+ ive pulled a couple of these motors and seen the internals with over 30k on the motor, saw no issues. . as long as you regularly maintain it

Incidentally the second gens are well built too, the only problems I had with my '05 were self created, like when I dropped the gas tank and it pulled two of the throttle bodies out of their boots. Took me a while to science that one.
