This post contains the instructions on how to install our bkmoto Mini H1 HID projector kit into your 2006 - 2012 Yamaha R6 headlights.
You may use this post as a support forum for installation questions as well, and i will try to answer any questions that may arise.
This install is not difficult at all, just follow these instructions.
I offer professional installation as well, you can send me in your headlight and i will install this kit, add any options you want like angel eyes, dual angle eyes, black out reflectors etc... and will return your headlight to you completely assembled and plug and play.
Professional Installation costs $250 + the cost of the kit from our website with your selected options.. (You mail us your headlight)
So today I went to start the bike after riding for a while and the bike wouldnt start. After I pulled the headlight fuse started right up no problem. Do I need to get a bigger battery or just put a switch on there.
It was cranking just fine just wouldnt fire up. I threw the switch in there and it works great now. I think the lights were drawing a little too much power to start with them on.
Price depends on what options you choose, and your hid kit will not work with these projectors, as your bulbs are not the same size. You can however use the ballasts from your hid kit.
You can price the kit right on my website, with all the options that you want, and then subtract $40 from the total if you want no ballasts.
When ordering, put down in the notes sections "no ballasts" and i will refund you after the order goes through.
Sorry about all these quesitons bud but im just trying to figure out what colors i want to do.... With the yellow ones... Would you say they light up more orange or yellow?
I DIG the red ones.... i just dont know what color i want for my front halo. I am getting white for the back one. I have a blue and white bike and am trying to decide between red, blue, or yellow front halo. Only thing thats pushing me away from blue forn one is the blue and white are to much of a close color and i think would blend into each other to much. What do u think would look the best?
Personally i like red/white combo the most, but i cant honestly tell you how it will look on a blue/white bike, as i haven't seen that combo yet in person.
Blue/white will look good, the rings are far apart enough to be seen as 2 distinct rings, and should not blend together.
LOL Thanks I needed that comparison!!!! i knew they would be diff just didnt know about how diff when lit up . Is there still a r6-forum discount or no? And also i wont be ordering prolly til next month. Im guesing u have it all in stock ready to ship?
no the shroud is the same, the cover is the clear round circle cover that covers the front halo.
The rear larger halo has no clear cover, so if you want both halos to match then select no cover, then both halos will be without a clear cover and will match.
look at this picture, you can see the round clear plastic cover that the halo ring is behind the cover.
Here's how mine turned out after I installed them myself. 35w 6k projectors, outer white halos and the Audi style led strips. The camera of course doesn't do it justice, it's from my old iPhone. Thanks to Borka for the assistance.
Hey guys, I've been monitoring this thread closely over the last few weeks, decided to take the plunge and order one of Borka's kits! just a basic single white halo ring with 4300k hid's... the law here In AUS is fairly strict, the more stock I can make it the better! I also bought a cheap headlight assy. from evil bay cause the OEM one's are about $800 ausd a pop :eek5 and will be giving this mod a red hot crack myself.. stay tuned folks, I'll post up pics in his other thread when done can't wait
$318 USD for an OEM headlight assembly
I'm also an aussie mate, got a few bits and peices from those guys, they're pretty good. usually takes 2-3 weeks for the part to arrive, it's always packaged well and the postage is usually between 30-50 bucks.
haha i guess yamaha mark up their product say dave, you're an electrician.. (i've read the thread front to back.. haha) would you be able to show me a detailed wire diagram from battery to globes with 2 switches; 1 for halo's on/off 1 for HID on/off?? if not.. i'll sus it out.. I'd just like having the confidence behind me
Yer mate no worries.
Can you take a photo of all the stuff you're connecting. I can't remember how much shit there is and I'll label the photo and go from there, should make things a bit easier for you.
I would but I'm still awaiting the kit from America.. acording to the tracking system it's en route from Miami!
anywho, my kit is simple, the hid kit with a single halo ring, but I want two switches one for halo's on/off and on for hid's on/off, unless I can run the halo's with the HId's, in which case I'd only need a switch for hid's on/off.. and make it so the halo's come on with the bike.. thoughts??
sorry for the late reply.. been REALLY BUSY keeping my car on the road

Well even though i missed the sale im definitely going to purchase a kit this month. How long do you think it would take to get them here in japan?
as soon as i get my bike back from getting the wheels PC im still gonna attempt to do the install. guess the r33 is going on the back burner for a little.:toocool:
theyre def bright but the beam pattern sucks its the issue with the halo hitting the headlight and cant be adjusted properly. causes the beam to only be projected like 10ft infront which greatly decreases visibility and defets the purpose of gettin projectors. just seeing if everyone with the 06-07 is dealing with this and dont care or am i the only one thats bothered by it
the 06/07 headlights are smaller than 08+, so its tough to have these projectors adjusted properly. But you can adjust the left headlight high enough so its not pointing down and points forward. you basically need to bring all 3 adjusters on the left headlight all the way back, so remove the rear dust cap, and adjust the 3 screws on the back of the left headlight all the way clockwise. be very careful not to strip them, so if you feel more resistance, then its all they way in.
Right now for 06/07 bikes i have a new projector model, which looks the same as the Mini H1, but is not as deep, and it fits better in 06/07 headlights, and allows full adjust-ability.
in 08+ bikes this is not an issue, since the headlights are deeper.
