Here is a projector comparison by JVX;
Chinese G1 type projector, sold on Ebay, and others;

Mini H1 Projectors You can see the beam is much wider and brighter overall

The FX35 FXR projector, as you can see the Mini H1 is very similar in performance to the FXR, and it will fit in your motorcycle headlights without the major modifications and mounting plate making that are required to fit the fxr projector.

credit for this comparison goes to JVX.

Nice and clean install. Congrats.

Try to take some dusk pictures as the sun starts going down, with the halos and leds on, and hids off.

#174 ·
Couple of questions how are you routing the wires for the leds? And how are you making them stick? I have thought about doing LEDs inside mine put have no idea how to hide the wires inside.

#175 ·
You don't need to hide the led strip wires or to glue them to anything.
The wires start and the outside edge of the lens out of view, and then 1 inch later to simply go behind the reflector to the rear headlight opening.

There is nothing special you have to do to hide them.

#176 ·
What I meant by glue is what do you use to glue the led strip down?

#178 ·
You use the same clear silicone glue that you use to glue the angel eyes to the shrouds.

Here is how:

just placed my order.. cant wait
Order received, Thanks!

This will ship on Monday.

New goodies came in!

These are not up on my site yet, i will put them up in 2-3 days.

Red Devil eyes (LED lights inside the projector, they light up the projector lens red color when headlights are off)

Side emitting LED strips, in White, Red, Blue, Amber

Flexible LED Strips in White, Red, Blue.
Still working on getting amber one's

Special Mini Relays to make LED strips and/or angel eyes into Running lights AND turn signals as well (normally they are only on as DRL)

Also, due to some website name issues i will be moving my website to a new domain www.bkmoto.com, this will happen in a few weeks.
Nothing will change, it will just be a new website name.

Devil eyes are red LED's inside the projectors, they light up the projector lenses and make them glow red. It looks very cool at night.

I think I need a new r6 now...haha
Think I'm gonna leave the setup as it is right now...definitely been getting a ton of new attention to the blue/white setup I have...
a lot of people are like "woah, that looks mean! how did you get it to shine blue" people know the tradition bmw halos, and the audi signature leds, but when you put two colors in (front/back halos) THAT is just unique...definitely a great kit, and every component is definitely powerfully bright! LOVE IT!
small caveat - would like boris to try putting up a how-to or tips for hiding cables....I TRIED, but it's still a little crazy... also Boris if there's a way to get the wires that run back to the battery to have an extra 4in. or so, that would've been golden. but it's all good, I just extended them :D

(will put up some pics of the wiring/messy side of the install tmr)

Can these be installed in existing projectors? Or do you have to order projectors with them in? Do they have an on/off? I received my projectors/halos today (thanks btw) and was wondering if I could install these too, so I could roll with different lighting at different times

#185 ·
I can send you a set to install into your existing projectors.

they do not come with a switch, but any on/off switch will do.

They have small controller boxes, and they are always on when the headlights are off, and turn off when the headlight turn on.

Devil eyes are $40/set

#186 ·
Let me get this straight.. So with an on/off for the devil eyes, I can control when they are on/off? Instead of how they are usually are? Might be a dumb question.. Just wanna be sure.. If so, can I order one of your on/off's to match the ones I have?

#187 ·
yes, you can put an on/off switch on them as well, and control them manually, they are just 2 wires positive and negative, to put the on/off switch on the positive wire.

pm me to order them and ill send you a paypal money request, as i dont have them as a separate item on my site. it will be $40 for the devil eyes and $10 for the switch.

#188 ·
Hey All. Here's a GoPro time lapse video I just finished of this mod and some others. Thanks again Boris. Enjoy :toocool:

#189 ·
Pharaoh that video kicks ass. I envy your garage and work space. Good work.

Rate the install 1 to 10. I'm trying to decide if it's worth the extra 250+ to have Boris install...

#191 ·
Thanks man, appreciate it. Install is not bad at all, just takes some time neatly tucking away all the wiring. I had Boris rig three switches for me so I had a little more wiring to deal with than most I assume. I'm pretty OCD about zip tying everything neatly, so it took me a while. End product is amazing though, you definitely won't be disappointed.

#199 ·
You need to move the projectors as much forward as you can with the 3 rear adjustment bolts, while closely watching the front halo, and making sure that you wont crush it, and leave at least 2mm of clearance for the halo from the lens.

At which point you should be able to close the dust caps with the rubber grommet inserted into the caps and seal the headlight.

Dont leave it open like that, you will get dirt inside the headlight.

Here is how your headlight should look like from the back:
Also to make the wires neater, simply put a wire loom on the wires and tuck them to the side.

#331 ·
Where can I purchase some of those dust caps with the rubber grommets?? I installed HID's on my 2004 R6 but the kit I ordered did not come with the dust caps. Thanks for the help!
those are just the stock dust caps with a 7/8" hole drilled through them.
The rubber grommet is on the hid bulb wires, so once you drill the hole just insert the grommet into the hole.

#194 ·
yikes, i don't know if I can stand that mess of wirings coming out of the drilled dust cap....this mod might go on the backburner after seeing that...

#195 ·
you realize that the pic with the ton of wires is WITHOUT the dustcover on right? when the covers are on, it is honestly not messy at all..
it WOULD be nice to have some sort of pre-fab dust cap extender to cover the bulb tho, but aside from that, it's still clean.
not to mention that as soon as anyone sees your bike, all they're looking at is the front in awe...most people won't care to look at the rear of the setup. :fact:

#196 · (Edited)
obviously i can see that. Im not really worried about what other people see, but I myself cannot stand any wires hanging out of the dust cap at all, i just think it looks like crap no matter how "neat" it is. If you can see exposed wires at all I don't like it.

saw the last pic in your other thread where everything is put together...i just couldn't stand it...

the headlights themselves look great but not the backside

#198 ·
Boris. question
seems I have burned a bulb... my left projector won't turn on...I pretty much took all wiring apart to see if maybe there was something not connected - but no...Is it possible a bulb burned out with less than 20hrs on them? Or the ballasts? any FAQ or troubleshooting on a bulb not working.
let me know what I should order if anything :\

#200 ·
Try plugging the right ballast to the left projector and see if it comes on.

also double check that the fuses on the wire harnesses are plugged in tight and that they are good.

as last resort, use the short test leads that i provided and plug the bulb to the ballast and the ballast directly to the test lead, and the test lead directly to the battery.

#203 ·
Here is a couple of pics after the install. I also went to the trouble of blacking out the shrould plus the entire projector body.

Thanks for posting pictures.

that looks great!

blacking out the projector body is probably overkill, as you cant see it once the projectors are installed, blacking out the shrouds should be enough.

its a little hard to see the blackout out shrouds from the pics...

#210 ·
Some pictures after the install..

Hope you guys like them. Thanks Boris for all the help =). Cheers..
came out great!

thanks for posting pics.
