My friend has been building his own gyro cam just for fun (retired computer programmers do the strangest things:mrgreen, and it is coming along pretty good. The other day he followed me through Deals Gap on a spirited (not blistering) pass:
That's awesome! He have any info online somewhere about how he's building it? As I non-retired computer programmer, this is something I'd love to screw aorund with.
Fallis, There are a couple of videos that show up at the end..."gyrocam test" and "MEMS gyrocam closeup" that show the mid prototype (the early one was HUUUGE). But I don't know if he has put anything out describing the gyro board and servos.
This video shows the last prototype. The current one has a little smaller servo/gyro enclosure and the belt is now replaced by gears. But it mounts the same way....a standard camera mount.

****ing awesome, would love to see that in a weird spot like by the radiator so you can see the angle of the forks to the ground.
