muffler removal, is it really worth it ?

i have an 06 R6, with Two Bros slip-on.

i love the deep sound of straight pipe bikes, but was wondering if it was really worth all the extra $$$.

the mjs midpipe is a option i was checking out, everyone on here seems to love mjs stuff. but then you gotta buy the pcv. mjs has a deal that they will include a custom tuned pcv with the midpipe for extra $$$. actually saving you like $50.

ive also read on here that the best way to tune your pcv is to have your bike dyno'd. not something that i could find in NL, and realllly dont wanna take a boat ride to have it done

i was also hoping to start doing some track days this year here in NL, Canada.

any thoughts ?

do you know an rought estimate for what Chiefdog carges for this? im a college student, but have 2 part time jobs, so saving up wont take too long.

^^^ After what he said, get a Bazzaz and an AFM and you can make your OWN map whenever you want.
what are your thoughts on the pcv? i read OhioJ's comparrison on the two and he liked what his autotune did for his bike, but all personal preference i guess? how do you find your bazzaz?

After owning Dynojet products and then owning Bazzaz products, and experiencing the customer service on each, I would never go back to Dynojet. :fact Both units essentially accomplish the same goal though, they just go about it in different ways. I've never regretted my Bazzaz purchase, ever. :fact

Even the custom tuned map that MJS provides is baseline..... you'll get some pops and gurgles like I did (environment/motorcycle is different). The Autotune made some changes for the better, but I don't want to play around with it much.

also, do you think i would really need the bazzaz after getting the flash? or is it just the convenience of being able to adjust the map to my specific needs/wants ?

People spend the money for a full system and tuning for performance/hp gains...... but I still don't believe it is financially viable make all these changes just for street riding. If you have a dedicated track bike, by all means. And these gains won't be noticeable until you reach the higher RPMs.... because our bikes lack balls when under 8K rpm.

yea, ill be lucky if i get 1 track day this summer, because i have to take a ferry to nova scotia, and thats not cheap. so perhaps ill just get chief to do the flash and get the muffler delete and call it good.
