I'm starting this thread knowing it will definitely take a while to get the bike where I want it. Also keeping in mind this is my first sport bike, and it's brand new, so no major work is going into it. Mainly cosmetic, aside from a slip on. Just always nice to hear new ideas and about new parts etc.

The bike is my brand new 2012 R6. It's white with the black and candy red tribal scheme, factory option apparently. I have an affliction with white bikes. She's called my Death Machine (irony). And again she's plenty fast as it is just aiming to make her my own.

Enjoy.

Here's a picture stock, aka about a week ago.

Alright, here's a question:

I've been browsing for a slip on. I personally have come to an argument between two, and they're both completely different styles. The first is a Yoshi carbon slip on, the other one is a Toce dual megaphone. Any personal suggestions? I'm trying to find something that sounds loud when I want it but quiet when I don't, and that doesn't sound like a swarm of angry locusts.

I started with a Jardine GP-1 slip on. But, if you wanna get some sound and performance, a full exhaust is the way to go. Or you could do MJS headers/05 Headers with a Slip-on. Personally, I'm not a fan of either of those you stated. But, I'd go with the Yoshi over the Toce. To each thier own. FWIW I have had the GP-1, Akrapvoic Slip-on with 05 headers, Termignoni Slip with 05 Headers, and currently a full Akrapovic Evo System. Akrapovic is the way to go in my opinion. Be patient and find something used on here, or hit up one of the vendors for good pricing :secret

Good luck and make sure to post more pics! :cheers

I actually decided ... after all this time I know ... to actually go with the Jardine GP1. I like the way it looks and it's cheap, just like every other megaphone. But I just looked around for a while at different exhausts, slip on's megaphones etc, and for now I think the megaphone is the best way to go. It's loud, looks good and is cheap :hump. So I'll order that this friday and put up pics of it's completion. I would say I'd put up a video, but we all know what happens when we do that, it never does it justice.

Yea the Toce is the double exit, it doesn't angle down but it does look sick.

I'm not super concerned about performance, just hate the stock sound and all that. I don't plan to do a cat delete for the fact of price and noise. If there is a quiet way to go I'd consider it, but for now I'm again just looking for a good rumbly slip on. I like the Yoshi, heard it on a friends bike, rumbles low and keeps good tone when he gets into it. And they make it in full carbon sooo... :toocool:

Again more suggestions are welcome, I'm taking my time shopping around as some of the slip ons can get quite pricy.

Oh and pics will come, forgot to put my windscreen pic up, I'll do that tomorrow when I get home. Supposed to be pretty sunny and I'll have the bike out anyway so I'll take better ones.

Thanks for the input so far.

Just ordered a few little things for the bike until I can save up and get the rear end done. Also have the break in service to save for. Charging like over 200$ for it so I'm kinda pissed. But for now I just got a tank protector, a gas cap protector, and a new smoke visor for my helmet. The tank protector came today so here's a picture. No it's not crooked so don't even try. :321

So a buddy of mine and I set to work one evening getting rid of the stupid rear fender assembly. Instead of spending 50-100$ and buying an expensive fender eliminator kit...aka a tag bracket, we made our own. We just unbolted the entire rear fender assembly, pulled the wires up into the undertail, and disassembled the oem rear fender. There is actually a metal tag bracket bolted to the fender itself, which we unbolted and actually welded two bolts to it vertically and slid them up through the undertail and put nuts and washers on them in the undertail, and voila, fender eliminator kit, for free! All I had to do was buy a tag light, which I did for like 17$. It's an anodized black metal tag light with five led's integrated into the top. It bolted on, I wired the lights in and it works and fits like a charm.

In case you were wondering, I do plan on getting a new taillight assembly soon that has integrated turn signals, because, you guessed it, I don't currently have rear signals now. But for now here is a picture or two of the eliminated fender. Enjoy. The exhaust will be up soon.

Also if you notice in the pictures, I did a small bit of weight reduction. I removed the rear pegs. I plan to never have a passenger for safety reasons. So a color matched seat cowl will be in the works soon too.

Kind of hard to see in this picture but you get the point:

Ok, so I ordered a bunch of goodies for the scoot the last couple days. Will be getting and installing them all this week.

For starters, I ordered the Jardine GP-1 slip on megaphone exhaust in stainless finish.
I also ordered the Bazazz EXUP servo emulator.
I ordered a Custom Led Blaster X integrated taillight.
I ordered the Custom Led flasher relay, and
I ordered the Custom Led taillight interface switch.

The exhaust will be here tomorrow, the EXUP should be here Wed, and the led stuff should be here in between Wed and Fri. Pics and short write ups will follow the installs for any of those out there who are interested in the specifics.

Cheers

Alright finally, even though it's cold, my slip on came today!! Had to chase down the UPS truck but we're not talking about that .....

Anyway, the installation was a breeze, duh. Especially considering I did substantial research, and you guys helped a lot, in explaining the proper process of installing the slip on.

Aaaaaand, it looks great! Thrilled with how well it fit and how easy it was. It also sounds quite a bit better, not race bike, but it sounds great. I can't wait to take it out on the road if we get a nice day and see how it really sounds. I took some pictures and made a video for YouTube (kinda crappy but I tried) on installing it. I tried to make it as basic as I could, I'll post a link once the vid's up.

For now here are some pictures of the final install. I'd like to note that the EXUP cables are still there dangling for now. The emulator will be here soon and I'll rid that mess.

Enjoy, cheers.

Some pictures of the Jardine GP1 installed. I'll have the header situation figured out before season kicks in again. That and some flush mount signals will be ordered soon. I've decided to try and drag race the bike once so some new safety gear is in order before too many more mods.
