So I was talking with a buddy of mine and he tells me he needs a new rear tire and I said why not get a set! And he said that the front tire is suppose to last for 2 rear tire life span or however you say. So I laughed cause I've never heard that! Is it true or is he trippin cause my tires always wear even together. Btw he rides a GSXR 600 lol

If the bike only gets mild street duty, this will be the case.
Another story if the bike is run on the track.

Just replace them as needed

Logically, front last longer, yes... Rear tire usualy wear faster (softer compound, etc.)

I replace when needed.

The Dunlop NTEC DOT fronts wear like iron. I usually get at least two rears to a front, and even then I am changing the front with more life left in it.

The street tires I have on now (Q2's)?.....we'll see.

On my R1's I had, my rears would last 3,000 miles (absolute MAX) and the fronts lasted twice that.

So every other rear tire change, I would change the fronts as well.

I'm curious to see how many miles I get out of a 600cc bike.

if you're on a track, that's fairly accurate. lots of riders buy tires in sets of 3; 2 rear, 1 front. i've done it myself.

if you're on the street, both tires will turn to stone at about the same rate. even tho one might have more meat on it, it will still be no good after a year and a half of street riding...

I ride what I call mainly "mildly" on the street. I have been buying BT16s. I get almost exactly 2000 miles per rear and 4000 miles per front. Works out well (but expensive as this year was 2 fronts and 4 rears) my routine is:
+2000 - miles rear tire
+2000 more - front and rear tire, change oil and filter, ...
repeat.

So OP, I don't think your friend is abnormal, except he has a GSXR:). Really, I kind of like the 750s.
