hey guys, so I rode my bike about 3 weeks ago with no problems. The last time I rode it I got stuck in the rain. My mistake but I did not clean it after. Anyways took it out today, starts right up I clean it. Start down the road and hear this loud clicking noise. Stopped got off did not see anything wrong kept going and it still did it. Turned the bike off and pushed it down a hill to see if it would make the noise and sure enough it did. I was thinking it could be a stiff link in the chain from possible the water and putting it away. got underneath looked around for anything but could not find anything. drove it around a bit thinking it might be the chain still going slow and eventually the noise goes away. Decide to go for a ride go out for 30 miles no problem start heading back home and the noise starts again. This happen to anyone? anyone know what it could be? thanks in advance this is also a 2007 r6 with 7,500 miles on it
My bet is that your noticing the brake pads clinking around? does it appear to do it as you get on and off the brakes, or going over bumps in the road?
no its pretty much all the time. almost sounds like there is something stuck in my tire and every time the tire goes around it hits my frame or tire hugger. but i checked and nothing is stuck in my tire. its a fairly loud noise too
It's the brake pads clinking. Next time you notice it, apply the brakes very lightly and see if the noise goes away. If it does while your on the brakes, then it's just the brake pads moving around.
