what a crap of $hit today... was planning to do a oil change today since weather was decent 50... took everything apart.. what a pain in the ass it was lol.. first time for me to take off the fairings.. let me tell you.. it is no joke!!..
took me 1 hr to get everything off and I am at the oil filter part now.. I bought one of those oil filter wrench caps size 65mm/67mm x14flute mother of god... it fits well with the oil filter I bought ... but the one on my bike now.. is slightly smaller so the stupid wrench cap cant grip it and you there is not much room there... wasted my hour.. now I need to go buy a smaller size oil wrench cap.. I bought one of those universal crap from sears craftsman piece of junk... those are too big lol useless $hit with the right tools means alot... people word of advice.. make sure you got all tools before you go ahead and be like me...
other option was to use a screw driver and bust threw the oil filter and turn it.. but I dont want oil all over.. going to do it the clean and non messy way..
ok.. thanks I am done...
COOL STORY right ? i know one of you smart ass going to say that real soon lol
Ummm dude just put whatever you used to drain the oil under the filter before you stab into the filter and take that bish off, the only tool i ever used on a oil change is the wrench for the drain plug. And then hand tightened it... easy peezy.

If you took the time to take the fairings off then who cares if you get oil everywhere? I had to jam a screw driver through one of mine when I went to did the very first oil change because it had been put on so tight.
Use a pair of pipe wrench pliers to take the old filter off. just squeeze it and twist. since you're throwing it away anyways it doesn't matter if it gets damaged.
thats not a bad idea ... with that thing atleast I got some leverage. did not think of it... I am going to have to beat the fuqqin $hit out of this filter lol...
A screwdriver is my standard method of oil filter removal....
...and I'm surprised that removing the fairings on your bike and wasting a couple hours working on your supersport race bike in the nice weather were enough to make the whole day crappy. oke:
Just be happy you didn't pull something like I did on my last oil change, cranked the hell out of the plug in the wrong direction and destroyed the threading. Ended up just buying a new pan hah!!
Word of advice. Just remove your mid and lower fairings then proceed to unbolt the shifter bolt.that should take you at least a couple minutes now not acouple hrs
Now I know lol.. I removed all of the left side fairings ...
thats why took me longer...
Now I kinda know where everything is and what screws to remove for what..
second oil change will be a snappy for sure.
finished up the job this morning... used a pair of pipe wrench as a member said earlier to remove the oil filter... I totally mangled up that oil filter somehow I cant upload the pic...
I think every used vehicle I've ever bought the first oil change has been disastrous due to either over tightened filter, or stripped drain plug. I'm apparently only able to buy vehicles from roided out gorillas who don't know their own strength.
I had one oil filter that I bought 3 different filter wrenches and punched two screw through before it would come off. The thing was unrecognizable as an oil filter by the time I got it off.
So yeah ... only hand tighten the filter when you put it back on.
