Well, I pulled the trigger after doing some reading and gathering information. I was a little nervous about doing the whole "ECU flash" thing but after hearing so many positive reviews and feed back from many members, I went ahead and shipped out my ECU.
From my understanding the following things are changed/removed:
-engine braking is reduced
-engine idle is raised
-radiator fans are set to come on at a lower temp
-fuel map is smoothed which leads to a butter smooth throttle
-EXUP CEL removed
- and some other OE restrictions
I've only had this thing on my bike for a day and I've only been able to "feel" the changes regarding to engine braking and the raised idle.
The reduced engine braking is tits. Coming to a stop or going into a corner and dropping gears before entering and still caring speed without the bike "braking" is just awesome. Makes everything sooooo much smoother.
I was worried about the raised idle regarding street riding and the bike heating up quicker at stop lights but I've found that with the lowered set temperature for the fans... The bike never hit more than 207F with ambient temps being around 80-85. It's a bit annoying to hear the bike idle at 2k at stop lights but well worth it. Now you simply release the clutch and the bike goes.....no more applying throttle lol.
As regards to the smoother throttle.... Milky tity smooth!!!!! I literally was able to ride with one hand in first gear and increase/decrease throttle without any twitchy-ness. With an OE ECU, this is impossible, all of you know how twitchy the throttle is in first gear.. The flash literally got rid of that issue.
I was able to ride home through the back roads and open her up a bit... AMAZING! She pulls hard through every gear and seems like she picks up power quick once you hit about 8k RPMs instead of 10k. I didn't open her up all the way as I was riding on public roads but I can't wait to hit the track in April with the new beast!
Overall I'm extremely happy with this upgrade. It's an easy upgrade at a great price. Most people gave me siht about doing this upgrade saying that it won't make me faster and blah blah blah.... An ECU Flash is not just a go fast upgrade.. It helps iron out rough spots that our bikes are known for. This is easily the best upgrade I've done to my bike.
I highly recommend it and I highly recommend Anthony from BAUCE RACING. This guy took hours converting my Bazzaz map to be compatible with the flash, he smoothed it out and listened to my concerns and explained everything, EVERYTHING to me. He applies all his knowledge into creating a true, workable and safe flash. I am positive that his experience with racing and his R&D go into every ECU he flashes. I truly believe that you get what you pay for and there's no exception to ECU flashing.
If you're concerned about the raised idle and If you have any concerns regarding engine longevity after an ECU flash.. .just contact Anthony and I'm sure he would be more than happy to answer all your questions.
And last but not least.... He did not pay me or give me free swag to say all of thee above. I am simply stating my first impressions with this product.
Mine should be getting to Ant today and should arrive back to me by this weekend so I can enjoy this 70° ATL weather! :-O In addition to the ECU, I'll be receiving a BMC Street filter and some new plugs. STOKED! Anthony is "that *****!" The flash should speak for itself. Anticipating this box being on my doorstep too much!
All this talk of the ECU flash makes me sad owning a 2012. In the next week or so I'll be sending it back to Anthony to see if these flash tune updates have done anything to flash the 2012's.
Anthony, if it doesn't work now you can hold onto it for a month or 2 for testing periodically and what not. Snow will be falling soon anyway...
I would like to say f it and get an ECU off ebay but as of right now i need to save my $ for a new helmet... which will more then likely be a Nexx from Bauce Racing
Mines on its way to him now. It shows it should be there tomorrow sometime. Can't wait to get it, and the new Leo slip on from him. I know I must be patient and let the master do his work. It's not like I can ride it with the wonderful Ohio weather anyway.

:cheers Ill hit you back tonight. Doin major catchup. I got my Take on Me radio station on Pandora playing and all bro. I'm doin WERK over here! :laugh Anyone that's been to my garage or shop knows when I hammer down I rock the 80's beats. :laugh :cheers
Damn dude i wont have helmet money until the 20th!! and i don't even know what size i am. all i know is i want one haha. i was planning to try on as many brands of helmets as i can at the DC motorcycle show in January. thats pretty much the only time i can try on a large variety of helmets at one time. Maryland sucks with helmet dealers.
but shit man if the helmet is the right price and the sale is still going on maybe i'll take the risk and purchase one without trying it on
definitely let me know about that ECU! i found someone willing to sell me an already flashed one for a decent price but obviously helmet takes priority at the moment. but if its coming from you i'd be more inclined to giving you my money hahaha
i'll try to shoot you a text sometime soon about this
it appears the 2012 ECU's with green stickers are unflashable. i sent mine to Chief a wile back and it wouldn't flash. since then there has been an update for flash tune. i haven't heard anything about the new update with the green sticker ECU's. i'm not sure if anybody has been testing them much. your best bet would be to talk to Chief or any of the other guys that do flashes.
I Effing Love this bike more then ever. The freeway was so much damn fun with the flash. Its like a new playground. The power comes on so strong and so smooth. Starting from a stop is great with the raised idle. 250 miles of pure bliss today. (it helps that I was watching a bunch of Isle Of Man TT race vids that got me all amped up)
I cant say enough how fantastic this mod is. The bike is purring so nice now. And down the freeway it sounds like a freakin F1 car with the full yoshi system. Love it. x10000
Got hit on the freeway Thursday night on the way home from work and possibly totaled the bike. Broke my collar bone and a few bumps and bruises. Wont get to ride for a few weeks.
make sure you toss in some BAUCE stickers for me, I need to spruce up the racebike (and always love giving a heads up for the good shops/vendors). Lots of people with the R6 in my racing club, so Ill definitely spread the word.
Damn.... I'll watch out for #701 when I get there. Heal up!
Have to say Bauce Racing is top notch, I was giggling like a girl on my first ride. Definitely pleased with the work he did, no more nasty dead spot in 1st gear, bike pulls great. Gonna have to run her through the twisties sometime this week to get an even better feel, looking forward to it. Thanks again Ant!
I've actually noticed that I'm getting better fuel economy lol.
Bike def run hotter on the street but with the fans coming on at 200 it's not an issue at all. Waiting to pay off some CC and then ill be picking up another bazzaz zfi/afm
Overall I'm really satisfied with the outcome. Shit is tits.
:YEA This is what's UP!! Cause I've got your flash file and all that shit ready to go bro. Gimme a week before you send it. I've got a handful here now and some obligations to other guys to return for certain dates, etc.
I dont' know how many more I'll be doing. Well, not at this rate at least. I love hookin everyone up, but this is a bit overwhelming and I refuse to just start flashing it with some generic pre-canned shit for everyone to save my time.
Either way, everyone should be expecting email notifications within the next couple day and tonight hardcore. I've been building the files offline.
Everyone keep an eye on their email, etc please. I always end up with some questions prior to flashing and it always holds me up a day.
Feel free to email, text or send me phone numbers and lemme know when is too late to call, cause I will call mad late and get your girl sketched out. :laugh

I can wait out for the decals, so hold on to it until you get them. It IS winter here so there won't be any riding anyway
Sucks to hear about the shipping! Are you using regular US Postal Service? It only cost me $18 via Canada Post with tracking.... shouldn't be that much more. *shrug*
If you're using UPS or FedEx, I'll get taxed and duty'd when it gets to me (which I would love to avoid). Just tell them you're returning the "gift" I sent you
Yea bro, fcukin us postal and I can only gift from a personal account so that's why I set that up today despite having one previously and just them not recognizing it. :laugh
Again love this mod. I almost wish I would have gone to a trackway BEFORE getting it done so I could fully appreciate the improvement. Every time I ride the beast now I'm smiling like the first time I took her out. Anthony is the man!

Whats the word on the Nexx sale you mentioned last week?
Also, how do you deal with differences in Altitude with these flashes? I'm considering sending you my existing custom PCV map and having you flash it to the ECM. I just need to be sure it's as good or better than what I currently have. I do like the idea of changing timing, all 8 injectors and the engine braking for sure.
Had to go out and start the bike up just to hear that bitch scream! That ECU flash had my bike almost jump clean off the front/rear stands just now... It was SUCH a blast on the track too pulling on other 600's like it was nothing, and gaining on a few 1000's...
Thanks so much to everyone for the kind words!! I appreciate the testimonials for sure. A lot of hard work goes into each tune for u guys so they are all personalized.
I know some have been patient and let me bump others and I appreciate it a ton! I can't half ass this work so I enjoy being able to be so thorough.
