Do it. Its a piece of cake if you can weld. Or you could always have it welded... let us know how it goes!

on a side note... since dynomike posted this how-to prices on stock 03-05 headers doubled. Glad i got mine right away

I don't know what map everybody is using. As soon as i have time, im going to just do a custom tune for a PCV on mine. The weather cant make up its mind here. Every time i have a free minute where im not working and can go throw the bike on the Dyno, something comes up. LOL! Family and kids take up a lot of my time. When i do have a free second i try to go ride for a few minutes, instead of Dyno'ing. Ill try to get to it soon though. When i have a map made, ill let everybody know. Simple file to email. Now, get out and enjoy your bikes!!!!!

That would be awesome. I'll probably be getting a custom tune this summer but if you have one to tide me over even better!

Have you noticed a drop in MPG at all? I've gotten no more than 26 MPG the last 3 tanks..

Re: 05 header & GYTR on 06 R6 write up and pictures.

I haven't ridden enough to know what kind of mileage im getting. But when i had it on the Dyno to check it and see where the A/F was at, it was running about the same as it was before the header install. But it has a lean spike between 4k and 6k rpm at partial throttle. Very very slow roll on with 20% load, running about 14.6:1. WOT was almost a full point leaner across the rpm, 13.8:1 to 14:1 A/F. Before it was a constant 13:1 @ WOT, perfect!

I see. Well hopefully a full exhaust map (akro) on my PCIII will help that lean spot. My idle is still a little jumpy though. I think a dyno tune is gonna be the way to go here.
