Hi all,
I just installed a new cam chain tensioner on my 06 r6 but can't figure out how to get the spring to release. According to the manual if the engine is not taken apart, I should put the kill switch in the off position and try to crank it, but it doesn't seem to do anything? Turn the key, pop in clutch, hold ignition button for .5-1.0 sec as the manual says, but I didn't hear it disengage spring locking mechanism... anyone know how to make the cct spring engage?? thnx!

Thanks Bryan_J, it was 12mm for the crank bolt, rotated it clockwise a couple times and the cct finally finally popped like it was supposed to. Sounds sooo much better and rides much smoother now in the 4-8k range I appreciate it man!

How many miles did you get on the stock one. Im at 14 and im pretty sure its donezo.
