Advice for a friend?

I have a buddy that's currently riding an 03 R6, he's about to take up an 02 CBR 954rr; he also curretly has about a year or so riding experience if thats relivent.

Is there any advice you can give him when it comes to the move up on power?
Any personal experiences with the cc jump?
Is it that big of a difference?

He's a pretty responsible guy, just trying to look out for him. I dont have enough experience myself to give him any advice/tips, I'm hoping a few of you on here, with all the infinite wisdome, might have your $.02 to toss in.

it wasnt so much that he was looking for a bigger bike, he just found "a great deal" on one that he "couldnt resist"

The jump will be a good deal of difference. When my 6 was stolen and totaled. My buddy who owns his own local shop hooked me up with a 1000rr and the power was crazy but I was off a bike for a month. Really watch your throttle since they seem to be pretty quick out of the gate just like the R6 but with some more kick. Just feeling the bigger bike in itself and how it handles. Treat it like you were just learning to ride and take it easy so you and the bike can "bond". Enjoy and ride safe.
