I hunt deer with a .308 Revalation. Anything with wings is a Mossberg 500 12ga. Also hunt with a .50 cal muzzleloader and am planning on taking out the Rugar .44 mag Super Blackhawk this year.
Upland birds and varmints mostly (prairie dogs, coyotes, etc.). For the varmints, I have a Les Baer .204, Volquartzen .17HMR, Dan Cowan custom Winchester Model 70 (pre-64) in .22-250, Savage .223 and a Knight Armament SR-15.
Just got this as a "congrats-on-the-baby" gift from my father-in-law. Can't wait to take this out for pheasant in February.
Beretta Diamond Pigeon EELL 20/28 combo.

Dont say I didnt warn you. And dont do something stupid like shoot at it with a handgun or smaller caliber bolt action rifle. Use a big bullet and make the shot count.

Lol...You did, you did...But I want that rush!
I was told a 6.8 would suffice...But I'm not going to go out and get a 6.8 upper just for this purpose...Maybe .308?
Im kinda meh on the 6.8. Id rather have .300 blackout I think, or .458 socom. That will definitely do it.
But yeah, a .308 or a .300 win mag will do fine. I wouldnt go at it with any less than a .270 personally, and Id want a tree to climb nearby.
I've heard the 6.8 can stretch further than the .300, but .300 has more punch? or maybe it was 6.5...Shit, confused myself now..ahha
Looking to pick up a nice bolt .308 soon, so that may be the route...Wanted an AR-10 platform but the bolt is much more accurate than the semi, from what I'm told.
And yes, I'd def have to look for quick escape plan...
