Maybe you should ask your parents if it's ok and have your dad call his insurance agent and ask them. I'm pretty sure if anything is stolen from inside the house including the garage it's covered under the homes insurance.
Insurance goes with the bike first of all. Second, getting a sign off is never a bad idea. Finally, the key to the whole thing is that you are not collecting any money. You'll be fine if something happens to your buddy's bike. With these 3 things in place, I don't really see how anyone could try to subrogate against you.

You guys are awesome! Thanks! I'm getting it signed by both of us and getting it notarized (I know a friend who is a notary so that's taken care of already!). A copy for both me and my friend.
This seems like sooooo much to go through... When, in the real world, or maybe just my world, it would have gone down as simply as this...
"BRO, you mind if I stash my bike in your garage a couple months?" "No problem BRO."
Same here... where the hell does everyone live to have to worry about theft all the time?! Or fired... wtf i wouldnt keep anything in the garage if i had to worry about some retards starting a fire!
He stated his parents are even paying the bike/insurance bill... That must be a pretty sweet deal! Wish I could squeeze a bike out of the rents...
If there is insurance on the bike, who gives a shit where it's stolen from... It's been stolen, and is covered by insurance...
Besides, if you can't afford a Coke, without cringing, you probably shouldn't own a sport bike... Just sayin...
That's not for you to judge...Just sayin...
Yes I'm covered by insurance but once in a while I like to sit back and wonder what could possibly happen if it gets stolen. I call that thinking it through.
