So after much contemplation I'm going to install an integrated tail light. Originally I was against the idea just due to the fact that I wanted it as obvious as possibly to people on the road which direction I was turning, so I bit the bullet and kept that hideous rear fender on. I can't stand looking at it anymore lol. I'm haven't done any mods whatsoever yet and this would be my first. How easy is the install? I've heard that on the 06-07's you have to completely take the rear apart?? Sounds like a major pita.. Also, any brand recommendations? Motodynamic, Clear Alternatives etc? I'm not sure if I want the standard signal or the sequential either.. Thanks!
Edit: I do not have led front signals, just the stockers. In the installation instructions on their site it says you should get a resistor/relay if you have front led's. So does that mean that if I have stock fronts that the rear integrated should flash at a normal rate? It should be here tomorrow, just to figure out if I should order a relay now before I attempt to install it.
I went with the Motodynamic as well for my 12. Install was not hard at all, but did take some time as I like to go slow and keep track of what went where. You won't need the resistors with the stock front turn signals. You also won't need them for aftermarket signals unless you want the same flash rate. I prefer the faster flashing, so I didn't install a resistor on mine. Good luck.
+1 for MD. I used a relay (flushies up front). This has been beaten to death here.
Install was easy except around parts of the tail.
