Ahhh, gotcha. Yeah I made sure to try and focus on always being on the inside of the bike, trying to lean and put pressure on the inside peg... Got plenty to work on still, but for a starting point I don't think I was awful...
It's def eye openning watching a video of me on the track, because I feel like I'm flying out there, some corners I knew I was a bit slower, but damn, some of the vids I looked like I could just fall over in the turn... Noticed the really low RPM's too in several of the sharper turns. So next time out, I'll def focus on which gear I'm in, in what turn, and adjust as needed... I can def carry some more entry and corner speed in, just things I need to work on! Thanks for the feedback Scott!
Anyone else got any advice? Bring it on... Keep in mind, it was my first trackday...
After a highside none the less...
Still had a blast! Bum leg and all...
one good exercise my instructor had me do was run the track in a single gear and not use any brake, your track is fairly small so 2nd gear, its alittle nerve racking at first, but it helps you focus more on you BP, Turn in and Exit points you dont have to remember to downshift up shift brake release brake ECT ECT.
I did one session like this and it helped a TON!
IDK who or where you get track riding info from, but there are some basics that need to be covered, i can if you want but too me it looks like you have the majority of them covered, Decent BP mostly cept you need to set up BEFORE the turn in.
Shoot me a pm/text or i can post up in here and i can go further in detail maybe we can start a new thread with tons of info for the beginners of this addicting sport!

Post up... I'm open to ideas and recomendations! I'm new to this shit... Trying to grow and progress in the sport! I just want to learn!
2) I watched the first vid a bit, and you're tippy-toeing through the corners and ham-fisting it on the exits-- I'm not surprised your rear slipped out on you. Gotta be smooth, bro.
3) What the shit are you using the clutch for upshifts for? I heard it and I was like " is he doing?" Just blip the throttle and pop it in gear.
4) Especially with street tires, you're up to operating temp after the first lap. 3-4 laps in they're definitely as hot as they need to be to work properly.. It's all about smoothness.
All of this.
I had a feeling you were going to crash in that corner you crashed in as I was watching the video. I was like this is the corner...this is the corner, but the long right hander was also giving me some concern. You were whacking that throttle hard!
Sorry you crashed man, it sucks. Heal up and get back out there!
Make it to an STT event sometime, their novice program is top notch!

Where/what tracks does STT run trackdays at? I'm def interested in getting to some other tracks, and getting some more personalized coaching. I was out there all day alone, just trying to figure it out on my own. In the afternoon I think I did a bit better. All in all, it was my first trackday, and highside. Other then the wreck, I had fun and think I at least learned a bit. Still have a ton to work on though! Thanks!

Or you can just come do a 3 day TD with the northeast crew at NJMP next season
We have like 15 riders each TD takin up 3 garages. All skill levels and everyone is always helping each other out with BP, lines, watching our videos on a big screen
Plus our coaches at Absolute Cycle are really good.

For now, I found out their holding a class in Oct at my local track... So I'll be going to that and riding with coaches, working on everything, and getting better as a rider! Siked about it! Just need to get the bike back together... Waiting to hear back from a couple people about parts... But I'll def be ready for October!
Had a blast last time out, minus the wreck, can't wait to get back out there!
It's that time again! Got her all built back up and ready To go! Getting picked up shortly... Race practice/coaching tomorrow, then races Sunday! So siked! With all The upgrades, especially The ECU flash, this thing is going To rip!
