Just normal riding around I usually shift around 7k if you want a number. However, pretty soon you really won't be looking at your tach.

What is the optimal shift points when riding a stock R6?

For
Street riding?

and how about for Racing (Track)? (I don't condone street racing)

I just want to know more about my bike and its potential.
(Track day in a few months)

Thanks
i generally shift between 15k - 16.5k rpm. i don't ride my bike on the street anymore.

nothing about the r6 is good for street riding. it's awkward, twitchy, uncomfortable and impractical on the street. all of this goes away when you're on a track, however.

if you have a track day scheduled, you'll see soon enough. track riding will take ALL the fun out of street riding...

Just shift when the bike stops pulling, you'll be able to feel it.

I generally always keep it above 4k and from there just shift before 17k. Lol

^^^^ Not you, the OP...

:

Well, to your credit op, you did admit to being a new rider; you will get it. Once you do, you won't even look down but just listen as posted above...
