R6 and my truck bed.......transporting it....

Anybody know if my 06 r6r will fit into my 2010 silverados 6'6" bed and allow the gate to close? I need to pick up my track bike but don't want to waste fuel using my big ass trailer ( driving 200 miles each direction. ). I have a baxley chock to aid in the transport as well.

Thanks

I highly doubt you'll be able to close the gate but that's not a problem. I run an extra tie down and loop it through the rear wheel just incase.

Depends on the cab. We have the crew cab and the bed is about 6in to short to close the tail gate. You could always load it in side ways

Re: R6 and my truck bed.......transporting it....

with a 6'-6" bed, it will close. i could carry liter bikes in mine with the gate closed. the dodges/fords couldn't do it. even with 600s. i think they have 6' beds. my new one is 6'-8". i was hoping for an 8 footer, but it is what it is.

thanks for the reply and the pic. looks like you have an extended cab like I do with the 6.5 foot bed. do you use a chock ( standard or locking style ) ?

Also, any idea approximately how much room from the back tire to the gate?

Thanks again guys !

Re: R6 and my truck bed.......transporting it....

i didn't use a chock. with the front tire on the front of the bed there was about 1" between the rear tire and the gate.

Re: R6 and my truck bed.......transporting it....

My 2001 Silverado does not allow me to close the tailgate if I'm using the Baxley. That's pretty much the case for any full size truck with extended cab that I've heard of.

If you lose the chock, you should be able to close the gate though.
