I've heard mixed emotions about Sidis. I personally love how they look but have heard they are too big and bulky. But you know how opinions are. I'm all about function>form so I passed (didn't want to determine the same thing) and found some SMX Plus' that were worn 1X on CL for $100. I like them, a lot, but the price could have a factor on that :-P

I'm going to check the Pumas out next. R&D seems top notch on those; they improve anything that was talked down on, which I personally love about a company. That's how products get better right? From user input?

Also, you guys should check out Velocity Sportswear when considering gloves too. I have not purchased a pair, yet, but they appear top notch and have won my vote. And at $200, they seem like a no brainer. Directly compare/compete with top-notch $300+ gloves. My SP2s have progressively started to feel worse and worse. They'll be replaced by spring for sure.

Just to clarify, I'm a fan of Held too. I'm just a bargain shopper

That was really the only reason I didn't get them. Didn't know anybody that had them. Was actually planning on replacing my boots this off season and now that I know this, I think I'll go with the pumas. I'm really liking that blue/black combo.

i have the same boots, they got destroyed in 1 season, they might be comfy but the durability sucks. looking to move into a different boot next season.

Re: Exhaust burning smx plus boots.

I have a pair of sidi's that are five years and 36,000 miles deep and still taking names. They are the middle road $250 dollar range boots at the time. They fit very well and look nearly new still. Sidi for ftw.......

I'm also in the Sidi camp Vortice all the way! Replaceable parts WTF. Lets say you eat it hard. Odds are you can fix the boot.
