It will be good to go. But it's not like a pallet of cells comes in and they are fully charged. I'd be offering piece of mind by doing this. Everyone knows the first charge of a lithium battery is the most important!

It seems so complicated.. I reckon I'll just go with a good ould Yuasa battery.

Don't do that. Way too expensive for what you get. Get the $60 lead battery from BatteryStuff (I've used them in several bikes, and they work just as well as the stock Yuasa), or take your pick on a lithium battery if you want the weight savings and you're ok with the price.

They did a review of all the batteries in motor cyclist mag. They ranked it 3rd out of 8.
