2008 R6 problems

Hey guys, I have a 2008 R6 with around 20,000kms on it. The last couple of rides it has developed a rough idle (big lumpy cam type of rough) and it will splutter under 2,000RPM. If you slip the clutch till you get passed 2,000RPM it runs normal as it always has. Another point to add is that it will roll smoothly at idle revs (as in get rolling, but with no throttle) but as soon as throttle is applied it will splutter till you get above 2k.

Im really lost - all the issues I have thought of would (in my mind) get worse with revs not better. I had a search and couldn't come up with anything certain so if anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

I had this problem and it was my coils

Is it possible just bad plugs would cause these symptoms? I pulled the coils today and they tested ok and show no sign of damage. The plugs are quite black however so they could well be the issue. The manual says 25k or 24 months, so there under k's but over time - either way, ill change them out and see how it goes.

Change the plugs if they are black...
