Hostess Brands closing for good
Quote:
EW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Hostess Brands -- the maker of such iconic baked goods as Twinkies, Devil Dogs and Wonder Bread -- announced Friday that it is asking a federal bankruptcy court for permission to close its operations, blaming a strike by bakers protesting a new contract imposed on them.
The closing will result in Hostess' nearly 18,500 workers losing their jobs as the company shuts 33 bakeries and 565 distribution centers nationwide, as well as 570 outlet stores. The Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union represents around 5,000 Hostess employees.
Just went for a run and reaffirmed the reason I stay in populated areas while running.. You never know when your intestines are gonna chuck you the middle finger at random. I was literally 1/8th of a mile from my house when I had a sudden and squirm in my abdomen.. There was no time to waste, this was happening RIGHT NOW. I immediately stopped running and clenched my cheeks. I proceeded to hobble into the nearest place with a public restroom (the grocery store across from my apartment) and just as I was entering the bathroom my defense mechanisms were beginning to fail. This shit was gonna go down (pun intended) in 3 seconds, regardless of whether I was on a toilet or not. I shuffled as fast as humanly possible to the closest stall I could find and threw down my shorts as fast as possible.. With no time to spare. Literally as SOON as my ass made contact with the seat, a gauntlet of explosive, rocket propelled gastrointestinal fuel was jettisoned from my intestines with such force that I felt as though I was ever-so-slightly lifted off of the seat for a short period of time. After a few minutes of recovery, a courtesy flush and some considerable paper work I was ready to stroll out of there and never return to the scene of that heinous crime, but it serves as a grim reminder... You never know when shit is gonna hit the fan, so always be ready.
Just in case the morning crew missed this little gem from last night.
