Longevity of a friendship doesn't mean close friends. Granted, I've known my best friend since I was 3, 2 of my closest friends I've know for less than a year.
No doubt. All of my good friends I met in college... One goes to Grad School with me, and we didn't really even get to know each other until I moved out here.
..but it's still nice to have a little bit of familiarity in your life ya know? I'm kinda jealous of those people whose parents have only moved maybe once in their lives. It would be kinda cool to know some neighbors, or to have some friends in the city where my parents live now.

Meh, I lived in my hometown for 21 years, and I still only have like 4 or 5 close friends from there
But then again, the majority of my graduating class are currently pot heads still living there, making minimum wage and spending all of their money on booze and weed.
