MJS Performance help

So I just ordered my gytr slip on and graves exup eliminator, and went to order my MJS race header and I noticed the have a MJS1 and MJS2. Is there any difference at all in either header? They are the same price and the discerption is the same for both 1 and 2. Thanks

Mike is a great guy to deal with at MJS, you can always call him.

However, you want MJS1.

The MJS2 is the 05 style header pre-modified to fit the 06+. You want the MJS1.

So I got my mjs header put on with my gytr slip on. And it sounds great, but im getting a burning smell. I would assume its just the paint from the mjs header. Since it is brand new. Besides that everything seems to be running just fine. Any ideas on the burning smell?

Some unusal smells at first with a new exhuast is normal, it will die down after a few rides and should go away. I'm assuming you've already checked to make sure nothing is touching it?

If you got the header (not the mid-pipe) the coating he got won't burn off, but it also may smell some while it's curing.

I had the weird smell right after the install as well.... went away after a while (1/2 a trackday or something).

Is there a particular reason for using this header with a slip on versus a full system? I'm assuming It's just a cost difference?
