Keyless ignition wire gauge?

I'm wiring my keyless switches but the 12 gauge wiring I have from HD is very stiff. It'll work, but I'd prefer something more flexible. What have you guys used? Is 12 ga overkill?

Re: Keyless ignition wire gauge?

mine's kinda stiff too, but it's still a braided core wire. that solid core stuff won't work - if that's what you're trying. i think i ended up using ~14-16 gauge.

Re: Keyless ignition wire gauge?

I've got the stranded stuff, but even still it's not as flexy as I'd like. I just don't want the switch terminals separating over time from the wire being too firm. So 14 gauge would be an acceptable choice?

Re: Keyless ignition wire gauge?

What Justin said, 14-16g is just fine.
