LED Flasher Relay Question
I have done a bunch of searching and have found a lot of information, but nothing that answers the questions I have.
First off, the bike is a 2007 r6. I have flush mounts up front, so I put in a $10 thermal flasher relay to correct the blinker speed (while I still had regular incandescent bulbs in the rear). I am now trying to put LED signals in the rear as well, but the rears will just stay solid with that current flasher, no flashing or blinking.
So I bought resistors for the rear, but they were getting wayy too hot and there wasnt really anywhere to safely mount them under the rear seat. So then, I went and bought an electronic flasher from autozone, and this got rid of the solid light issue, but now they flash inconsistently and are very dim. After doing some reading, I went and bought a Tridon EP-35 LED compatible flasher (3 prong.) Since there is an extra prong, I ran a ground wire to the 3rd prong and now all the blinkers are solid again. Was I supposed to do something different with the 3rd prong on the flasher?
Can anyone please shine some light on this for me? Thanks in advance!!
