Re: Why Are R6s Getting Slower Each Year?
Due to emission restrictions getting tougher each year, bikes are more and more detuned on the ecu. You open the throttle 100% the bike only gives you 76%. That is a massive detune!
Due to gases and noise emissions exhaust went bigger as well, more weight, more gases restrictions less power to the wheel.
Bottom line, every year bikes are faster and faster (better chasis, better suspensions, better electronics, better handling, better braking, etc.), but not in their stock form due to emissions. Tweak the ECU, replace the exhaust and a new R6 will beat by several seconds an older model having even the same mods.
