Nice! I've been thinking about doing the same thing. Have a friend up near San Francisco that's got a 250 he was racing in AFM for sale.
Been riding track days for two seasons on the '6, but I'm still sloooooooooooooow. Figure the 250 might get me to man up and actually carry some corner speed.
Lol you and I are in the same boat then. I actually started faster then I am now but a couple crashes due to suspension issues and Ive lost my nerve.
Ive read that the grids for the 250s are like 20+ bikes so you'd always have someone to race with.
I paid 6k for it, which I feel was 1k moe then it's worth BUT it's close and owned by a expert racer I know who maintained it perfectly. Also he is throwing in some spares so I will be able to sell those.
YEAH ESP is a first rate shop. I dont even plan on bringing it home, gonna take it directly to them to have the engine refreshed and the suspension set for my weight.
I will post pics once I pic it up. Stay tuned, I'l continue to post my thoughts about the R6 VS 675 as I go along.
Great! Good to hear that. Where do you ride? Phoenix is crazy, for such a big motorcycle city there are not any good racing orgs
Just getting into trackdays. Going to az motorsports park for an Xcel trackday on dec9. Other than that theres a phx thread in the sw regional section of the forums. We are trying to organize a meet and ride on dec 1. Im usually down for anything

Arroyo is the perfect environment to learn! I'm sure you'll have fun with Xcel, but def make plans to come out! Such a good time, and usually open sessions so you can ride as much as your heart desires. Just adk some of the regulars to show you lines and give you feedback. Everyone out there is more then happy to help!
