I just talked to Brad and it's basically thickness of the dot. 2MOA is smaller radius than the 4MOA, iirc.

Dot size yes, but I'd still look up what MOA means (minute of angle), also helps to read MOA vs Mil...
I run an Eotech XPS because I simply like the smaller dot (1 moa) and square glass. I'm going to be getting a Leo scope (2-7) with Mil dot and Mil dot turrets so I don't have to mess with converting measurements, soon hopefully.
