First trip to Cali!!! : Yamaha R6 : R6 Forum

So finally flew out to Cali from NC to visit the wife's family for Thankgiving. We decided to drive up north to visit friends then take the pch back down to San Bernardino. I found a road between Ukiah and Boonville, CA-253, this road is AMAZING. It reminds be exactly of deals gap back east. Only downside for bikes was that the road was damp in places. I dunno if it has rained recently or what so hopefully it's dry usually. The pch is also pretty awesome up north towards Point Arena area. Anyways just thought I would share. If your ever out on the pch and are looking for a place to crash the timber cove inn was awesome and had amazing views of the ocean.

Yeah there are lots of amazing roads in north-west Cali but the whole area gets a lot of rain from pretty much October through May and all the shade from the mountains and trees mean the roads can stay damp for days after it rains.

If you're still in the San Bernardino area you should definitely check out highway 2. Comes out on the east side of the Angeles national forest north of SB. That was my favorite place to ride when I lived in LA and is probably still my favorite road. Come back with your bike when you get the chance

Yea, it's a great place to visit but could never live here. It seems everyone in a car has no clue how to drive. I would go insane dealing with the genius people behind the wheel.

I've been a lot of places in the world and have yet to find a place I would rather live. The traffic sucks, the government taxes every little thing you do, prices are higher on everything, and the dmv can kiss my ass! But, it's still a killer place to live. So many hills, road courses, dirt tracks, lakes, rivers....pretty much anything you could want other than hunting.
