How normal is it for you to find a walmart parking lot completely full? I don't see why anyone needs to feel special and park their bike on the sidewalk. You are obstructing pedestrians' pathways, not to mention if anyone has a wheel chair. I'm not referring to parking at walmart, but just in general.

2 days ago, I drove to the nearest shopping center, the kind that has the little shops, and I see some d-bag ride up the handicap ramp and almost take a pedestrian out. How would you feel if someone parked their car on your sidewalk?

Re: Illegal parking

I would love it if it was legal...but it's not.
I would guess their thinking is, if they let one, or a few bikes park there, then on a day when there is an emergency, there could be several parked there, hampering any emergency/rescue personnel.

You've obviously never been to South Philly...

In regards to parking at Walmart. There is PLENTY of side walk where pedestrians and wheel chairs do not go. I see no reason for a ticket just because it's concrete. I very rarely ride mine to Walmart because I'm normally buying more than I carry. When I do I would rather park on the sidewalk than the bumper-car course of a parking lot they have.

i would park to left of this entrance in no way would that be in the way of anyone......honestly yes i could just park in one of the parking spots but you seem to forget the retardedness of a select few...i just dont want to deal with my bike getting bumped into by a car shopping cart or whatever...call me an asshole/douche for doing that?? meh i can live with that, quite comfortably actually

and if you cant see someone where youre riding they shouldnt be riding...and a car on the sidewalk is kinda really taking it to the extreme..were parking the bike parallel to the wall....

Re: Illegal parking

As long as you can live with the chance of having a parking ticket, by all means. Just don't complain like the OP if you get one. It's the same as exceeding the speed limit. If you do it, don't complain if you get caught.

I just had no idea it was illegal haha I figure its doing people a favor by not taking up a whole spot for a little bike. Also in the heat it's the only concrete area so it's habit. I know better now though!

Also I always have a fear in parking spots that a car will commit to parking thinking it's empty and slam into my bike :O
