spark plug question

If you let your bike sit the garage for many years. How long would you say before changing your spark plugs?

Re: spark plug question

You should pull them and check them for condition. Couldn't hurt to just replace them. I would be worried about checking all of the fluids even more than the spark plugs though.

Service manual recommends every 8k miles or every 12 months.

May as well replace them if you go through all the trouble just to get them out.

Re: spark plug question

If I do check them I'll probably change them but I don't know if I should check because I only have 3k on the bike.

Re: spark plug question

When in doubt, change it out! Lol. If you are worried about it at all, just do it.

Re: spark plug question

If your bike has been sitting that long you should spray some lube into the cylinders while you have the plugs out before you start it. Chances are those cylinders are pretty dry.

^^^this...seems if you have to ask the question, there is probably a good chance they need to be replaced. It will give you a piece of mind if anything.
