I recently ditched my TV stand and switched over to a wall mount setup for my basement. All the wires run to the right into the closet. I'm waiting on a Hammer Drill(shipped to me) so I can mount the equipment on the wall and it will all be hidden behind the doors.
I also went a little wall mount crazy with the rest of the house.
Living Room:
Still need to figure out a mounting system for the cable box.
Bedroom:
All wires hidden, box is to the left of dresser.

Completely agree, when I have the funds available I will be moving the Samsung from the basement into the bedroom and going bigger in the basement.
