Really? Going to have to contact my insurance about this...Think it was 900 for me for both, fully covered...

I got quoted 8k a year when I first got my S... It was more than I paid for the bike.

Again, shitty rate down here...I hate it with a passion.

I'm really really sorry to hear about this OP, that is all.

I Stole your bike man.....

JUST KIDDING...

sorry to hear about your bike bro... here is how I see it... if you can take the pain of losing 5+k then liability is fine.. but

the way I see it... anything over 4+k I will consider full coverage on a bike.. I had liability on my bike.. and 2 days before I recked my bike.. my co workers all told me to get full coverage.. I lucked out and got full coverage.. and.. recked the bike.. so I got a new one.. thanks to insurance.

Good luck with your bike and finding it.. and if you dont find it.. let this be a lesson learn.. for next time..

Being under 25 and a guy definitely adds a premium to your insurance, typically around 30-50% depending on the bike. Also highly depends on insurance companies, Geico (whom which I had a previous car stolen filed and claimed with, quotes me around 3k a year full coverage on one of my r6's), Allstate around $1500, the rest are in the 300-500 range. As a note, a lot of insurance companies will offer you a reduced rate during winter storage months (if you live in an area that has a winter), which generally equates to about 30% of your total premium during these months. That's a big savings off your yearly rate if you "store" it from say November - March/April.

Personally I use State Farm, which in my area based on all of my friends rates and quotes, is by FAR the cheapest. I factor this cheapest rate due to the fact that they don't offer a "storage" rate in the winter, as they state they already factor it in, which allows them to quote such low rates. A friend of mine who uses Geico and lives a mile away from me, after factoring in a 6 month storage rate, pays around $370 a year for full coverage.

There are just too many factors in insurance quoting, but overall these are prices on the fair/good end, compared to the high end which some of you seem to be paying (possibly due to lack of knowledge of possible rates). Of course if you have a lot of traffic violations/previous suspensions then you may be SOL, but that's the price you pay for your past indiscretions. A friend of mine who has never had a traffic infraction was quoted at $70 liability / $159 liability+theft / $250 full coverage on a 2008 R6.

This has gone pretty off topic tho, and seeing how the OP is from NYC, I really hope he recovers the bike, as unlikely as that is in this area.
