Installing BNIB fuel tank, any cleaning steps required?

Hey guys,

Ill be replacing my current tank with an oem tank. I will be swapping over the gas cap and fuel pump from current tank to the new tank. My question is, do i need to prep the new tank in any way? Sealer/cleaner?
Or can i just pop the pump and cap on, plug it in and fill'er up with gas?

Thanks in advance.

I read somewhere that a guy installed the tank without cleaning it first and the bike ran like shit. Im just curious if factory would send out tanks that need a good cleaning before install. Anyone have any experience?

You'll need to clean your pants when you throw it on there and see how pretty a brand new tank looks!
