they do have them for both sides

Yep. Clutch slider. Type it into google images and you'll get a bunch of hits. Personally I have never used them or seen anyone with them on their bikes in person. But I could see how they could be beneficial, plus they don't add any significant weight or otherwise hinder the performance of your motorcycle.
Heh, my r6 came with one of those installed and I'd never seen one or knew why it was there specifically. Good to know. Was thinking about taking it off because it looks a little funky but eh
