bazzaz TC dial adjuster .. help?

So the guy had no rode the bike in awhile when I bought it and forgot what this knob does. Anyone else have an adjuster like this for their bazzaz TC that can enlighten me?

The short answer is that it makes the traction control more or less aggressive.

I did.. I cant tell what the values correspond to. 0 is off? -5 is less and +5 is more?

Where do most run theirs?

Yes. The newer ones go 0-10 and the older ones go -5 to +5 with -5 being off and +5 being max intervention. I have an older one like you and leave it pretty high, I think at +3.

I treat it as a safety backup because on a bike if you run race tires you need to be really damn fast to get to the point where you need TC to control wheelspin. I ride in the advanced group and feel that I'm not fast enough for that. My plan is that if I get to the point where I feel it kicking in, and it's hurting my drive out of turns, then I will lower it. But until then I like it high in case it prevents a highside if I get too aggressive. I really don't worry about it too much. I may have only had it kick in one time, but I'm not even sure about that.

That's how I did it when I tracked my car. It would kick in a lot so I put it in the sport mode, and when it still kicked in but I felt comfortable with the sliding, then I would turn it off.

I'd turn it to -5 unless you are riding in the rain. That shit's dangerous.

I do ride in the rain a lot actually which is why I was messing with it. Need to get it on the laptop though as it was pretty abrupt.

I was told 0 is off and -5 is least intervention? Any idea on the exact truth? A call to bazzaz would probably be best. I never realized they sold the switch. I thought the guy made it up... oops.

-5 is the least amount of intervention and 5 is the most. 0 is in the middle. I talked to Josh Hayes at Daytona this fall and he said he has traction control, but never uses it unless he is riding in wet conditions. Even then he continued to tell how difficult it is to get the TC set up right.
