Well, I took your guys advice and purchased my first pit bike (2002 XR 70). The wifey loves it. I may go back and buy the CRF 80 he had for sale. Needs a front brake lever.
might have a matching 12" front rim for that bike so you can put scooter tires on it.
Scooter tires? Educate me on this...when it comes to dirt/pit bikes I have know clue on what's needed. We are just starting to look for different things to do to the bike to make it better.

You can get scooter tires in 12", 14" and streetbike tires in 16".
The 70, 80, and 100 hondas use larger wheels in the front. A scooter tire costs ~$40 tops... and they stick pretty good. You'll need a new motor before wearing them out. Makes a neat little motard.

Ah, I see! I had to go back and check yours out. I like that idea.
The CRF50 aka XR50 from Honda has the largest aftermarket out there...
Bottom line, they all make good "pit bikes" but if you want to trick it out, go with the Honda. Where I'm at (So Cal.) pit bike are big. The 110's and 50's rule the market. I have a few friend that bought the China knock off's of the Honda and they're pretty good if you don't try to race them and jump the crap out of them. The Honda parts even bolt right up to them. You can get a clutched 125cc with disk brakes for like $900 new.
Otherwise, I've been finding real Honda's for for $500-800.

I traded for this thing just because I needed a pit bike, but now I really want to pimp it out, which won't take much since it's all decked out with BBR motorsports goodies all ready.
I initially bought one XR 70, the wife liked it so much I had to buy a second one. Then she decided to make it her own now we have his and hers pit bikes.
