I am looking to do an exhaust on a budget at least until i get some experience and can afford a full system. So my question is would i be better finding some pre-cat headers or cheap race headers on ebay and buying a slip-on to go with them or should I cut my current pipe and weld/clamp in a y-pipe? Also any discussion on slip-ons that people have had experience on would be much appreciated.
Edit: Also just found MJS performance I may go this route, are there any good slip-ons with silencer packages for these pipes?
A 2nd gen header is gonna be your cheapest option. It'll require a little more 'custom fitting', but they work great.
Yeah you're right about it being the cheapest. I think I'm just gonna bite the bullet and do MJS headers with a GYTR carbon slip-on and flash tune. Just gonna have to save up and buy things one at a time... Anyone know about the GYTR slip-on, does it have much of a silencing quality at all? I dont want this to be too loud... Also how are the quality of the MJS headers?
I don't have a problem with them-- hell, I'd own one... But there's just better stuff out there, that's all. If you dig it and it's in your price range then go for it.
I do like the look plus the price and carbon is nice, any griefs with it or suggestions of other affordable slip-ons?
search used to find a header set up, hit up chiefsmokedawg aka bauce racing on here. he runs killer prices on leo vince exhaust and he can handle your ecu re flash needs as well.
