New paint job idea

That is a good idea... Here I was stuck thinking about dip'n my wheels (like everybody else)

Though Ive never used the stuff before, how does the removal of the dip affect the decals on the bike? I feel like it may take some of them up? Have you had to redo any over a old decal?

I have not done it over any decals....but I would imagine that A. The edge of the decal would probably show through in the dip and would make it more elevated, and B. if the decals were already peeling off or lifted at all it would most likely pull them up....but if they're stuck on pretty good I don't think you'd have an issue. Either way, the stuff is amazing. If you do lay the dip on I recommend at least 3-4 coats for black, at least 7 coats for white, and at least 6 coats for any ther colors. They didn't have enough red for me to do 6 coats at the store, so the black paint originally on the parts I dipped red kinda shows through in the low spots of the texture. If you try out doing it over decals let me know how it turns out.

Your method is much better anyways. Theres no pic's but im assuming you masked out the decals with painters tape/newspaper/whatever.
This keeps it looking clean.

If one should need to paint over a decal, reasons for painting over the decal must be that the decal looks like crap. So then why not remove it? <--- We should start thinking this way instead lol

You'd have to be a painters tape/exacto knife Jedi to mask it.....and when masking off any stripes/designs/stencils you have to peel everything off while the dip is still wet to get clean lines......I had some decals on my windscreen pre-dip, I just pulled them off.....but if you happen to be rolling throu Denver anytime soon I'd be happy to try out the above mentioned Jedi tricks. Lol

plasti dip is amazing...love that stuff lol was painting my bike matte white with a coat or 2 of clear gloss and i ran out of paint haha half the bike was done so i had to peal everything off lol
