traffic doesn't need a werks exhaust to hear you coming, they can see you from a mile away. turn down the volume on them rims .

Lol that was the intention of getting them that safety vest color easily visible anytime. I commute to work everyday and have less close calls because of it so volume stays up

nice, i bought my 05 with white wheels on them already, just put very reflective red stripes on them that shine with headlights.

I don't post on here much at all so I apologize for being the noon member :/

I appreciate this thread, definitely helps a ton with my decision on what shorty to go with.

Right now I have a micron high mount that came with the bike when I bought it, however I wanna get a shorty and have been debating between comp werkes and Olson racing..

Wanted to know anyone's opinion about it...I noticed the comp werkes is pretty pricey, however I am willing to shed the $$ for it, as long as I'm confident that it is worth the money, which is why I need your guys' help! I understand its loud, I don't mind it and actually like the way it seems to sound. If the event were to occur that I have cop trouble or I just don't want something that loud then I don't mind putting the micron back on for a little while if need be.

As far as the Olson shorty, I like the sound of it as well, and the tag is more appealing too, but not sure if I should just shed the extra dollar for the comp werkes, it seems to be the one I'm interest in more.

but open to any/all opinions between the two.

Yea I am still trying to decide myself. Researched all of this and found peoples opinions but still not sure which one is the one that will make me the happiest.
Loud is what I am looking for but nice and deep, not ricey.
I currently have a chopped stock, its loud but not quite the sound I am looking for.
I am between the Comp Werkes, Olson and HR1 Riot.

Regardless I will be making a decision and purchasing one in April or May.

I have recently installed the Olson shorty exhaust on my '05 R6. It is a very nice unit, great fit, good looks and sound. It is exactly what I was looking for. Mine is a track-only bike and having a stable fit for the exhaust was important. I don't even find the need to use the mounting strap because the exhaust is such a tight fit on the mid-pipe.

Just be aware that it took me a month to get the exhaust in my hands and the communication during that period was pretty limited, but if you are patient, good things will come

What are your thoughts of this exhaust for a non track bike?
