I love my 07 335, if they offer extended warranty take it.... Nothing goes wrong usually till you hit 50k miles and above. Replacing My wifes front brakes alone cost me $750 so we got rid of it because maintaning 2 Bimmers can get very expensive.... Now she drives audi Q7 which is also expensive to maintain

I work for BMW, so if you have questions about specific models, let me know. As a dealership technician, I see how expensive fixing a BMW is. For example, a set of brake pads on the new M5/M6 is $500... just for pads. For a new 7 series, one rear air spring strut is over $1k each.

Don't get me wrong though, BMWs are amazing machines! Incredibly fun to drive.

I've got an e60 myself. 4.4L v8, the car gets up and goes. No problems with it, and I've got 82k miles on it. A few electrical quirks here and there, but it was all fixed via DIY and trial and error. They're very picky cars when it comes to electrical. It should be expected, with all the sensors and what not.

If you're going to buy one, I'd say get one with a warranty, unless you're a very DIY-savvy person. Repairs are not cheap. Oil for my car is 8qts, costs about $80 just for oil and filter, to do it myself. The potenzas I've got on it are about $280 a tire. I did get in an accident and the headlight assembly alone was $1700. I wasn't at fault, so I didn't have to pay it. Total came to over $5k, new headlight, bumper, and quarter panel was all it was. Parts alone are expensive, labor is just downright sad if you take it to the dealer. Indy shop is the way to go.

How much are you guys paying for your extended warranties? Im looking at a couple at local dealers but all of them are not bmw dealers just other brands. Does it depend on the dealer? I found one I liked for 16k and have 5500 cash so I'm just trying to guess my payment since I know I'm getting the extended warranty for sure

I think I've paid almost $2500 to extend my 50k miles to 100k.... It's totally worth it but this is thru a BMW dealership.

I'd suggest going through the BMW dealership, other dealerships often offer 3rd party warranties....different from the bmw extended warranty. I think the warranty on my car offered was around the same as listed above

Ya once I did some insurance numbers I realized it wasn't for me. I came across this truck for 17k and it has 12k just in upgrades so I couldn't pass it up.
